My initial scare of thinking someone was physically in the house or watching me, instantly shifted to a calm when I realized it was some sort of spiritual presence. Even though I have no idea who, it helped me to think it was my beloved Grandmother who just passed this last Fall.
Spirit Guides have many ways of communicating with us, and it has more to do with our level of awareness. Firstly, there is "Telepathy." Short bursts of information or guidance, and receiving information in your mind. Slightly more intense and "advanced," is "Blocks of Thought." When guides let us know chunks of information about someone, or something. A good example is how when meeting someone, you can get strong initial feelings about them out of no where. Like downloading a file on their aura from elsewhere. Continuing on a deeper recognition of messages in "Knowing," and it goes beyond small messages and blocks of thought, to complete belief within your body in mind of the message coming through. It is very rare and not many have this level of recognition.
Most common though perhaps, are "Dreams and Meditation." You see, sleep is not just a way for our bodies to heal and regenerate, but a way for our souls and spiritual selves to realign. These needs are so important, sleep is not an option. When one reaches deep sleep, our belief systems also drop, and we reach a higher level of consciousness. Reaching that higher level, means you are able to shift dimensions with ease and maneuver the spirit world effortlessly. This is often why we place so much emphasis on what our dreams mean, when we are lucky enough to remember them in detail. Are they a message from your Guides? Are we receptive to small thoughts of what is to come? Is your dream giving you a warning?
All that being said, while I was able to convince myself the being around me that woke me at 3am was a gentle one of my Grandmother, that was not my initial reaction. I was convinced someone was watching me, and not in a good way. I have done some research on this, and it appears the jolt out of bed at 3am is not an uncommon thing. For those believing in Christianity (I do not) 3am is said to be the "witching hour," as it is the direct opposite time of Jesus's death, and when evil spirits approach you. As I do not adhere to the beliefs in the Bible, this one is sort of mute. However, many articles suggest 3am is when paranormal activity is highest, and I found numerous web forums with people discussing their 3am wake up calls from beyond.
NOW - we have to talk about the dream that happened once I fell back asleep....because it was strange.
My dream after my unusual jolt awake at 3am, consisted of a largely recognizable cast from RuPaul's Drag Race, except now they had super powers, as did I.
Set in some futuristic building, there was an evil drag queen who was trying to kill everyone else. Why, I have absolutely no clue. During my cross-dressing saga in dreamland, yours truly was cast as the hero.
While all the details of the dream are blurry (I was still reeling a bit from my "encounter" at 3am) the thing I remember most, was that the vilan had transformed their appearance at one point to trick me. I had figured it out though, and was able to catch them before it was too late.
OK SO - was my 3am wake up related to my crazy dream where I saved the world of super hero drag queens? I have no clue. I do know, I believe someone definitely wanted to tell me something, or let me know they were there when I was woken up this morning. As freaked out as I was at first, I sort of hope it happens again so that I can be more prepared and really open to the situation. I know there is some history of psychic ability in my family, and I would love to think I am open to any messages from the Spirit World. This comment on a popular psychic message board below is leaving me optimistic for future messages. BTW, did I mention how fierce the costumes were in the dream? I mean, I don't know why more people don't wear shiny colorful unitards. My my Spirit Guides are sending me a message to bring back leotards and capes. I probably wont argue that one.
